Welcome to the 2016-2017 school year, Panthers! This is my ninth year teaching English at Twin Valley South, and I am most grateful for the opportunity. As I embark upon my 16th year of teaching, I am eager to be a part of a promising and unique school year. As in years past, I will be teaching Advanced English 10, General English 10, General English 11, Speech and Creative Writing. I feel fortunate to teach these diverse courses, for it allows me the unique opportunity to have many students more than once during their educational journey.
I graduated from Miami University in Oxford, Ohio with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Education in 1992. While there, I also earned my Reading Endorsement in grades k-12. Upon graduating from Miami University, I taught for the Lakota School District in West Chester, Ohio for six years. In 2011 I received my Masters Degree in Education from Indiana Wesleyan University.
On a personal note, I am originally from West Chester, Ohio. I have lived in Eaton since 1998. I am blessed by my husband, Scott, and our two sons, Jake and Nathan. Having had my own son graduate from TVS and another currently a student of the school, it brings me gladness that my own children will forever be a part of the Twin Valley South tradition.
I feel fortunate to have been welcomed by the community of West Alexandria with such graciousness throughout the years. I have shared in the wealth of activities that make West Alexandria and Twin Valley Schools truly special. I have met many wonderful community members and have worked with dedicated teachers that I greatly admire. Furthermore I have met both parents and students during the past three years at Twin Valley that have made my teaching career a meaningful one. For this, I truly thank all of you and look forward to a bright school year ahead.
