The Greater Ohio Valley Chapter of Women in Defense’s Scholarship Program  

The Greater Ohio Valley Chapter of Women in Defense (WID) announces its 2024 Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM) Scholarship Program. This scholarship program supports female military members, local high school students, college students, and career professionals who are pursuing degrees/certifications in the STEM field and have aspirations to work in the Defense Industry.   

The goal is to encourage women to seek a STEM-related career in the defense industry (military, federal government, or civilian company) and to participate in WID events and activities. The application process will close at 5 PM EST March 31. The application can be completed at Greater Ohio Valley Chapter of Women in Defense (WID) Horizons STEM Scholarship Program. PDF applications are available upon request. Awardees will receive a $1,000 - $2,000 scholarship.

The Brittanie Nichole Cecil Memorial Scholarship Fund is available to graduating seniors of Hilliard Darby and Twin Valley South High Schools, who desire to excel in life. To be eligible, you must meet the following criteria:

1. Completed applications must be submitted to Ms. Whitesel by 5:00 p.m. on Monday, March 8th, 2024.

2. Must be accepted to a two or four-year college or university, or an accredited trade, business, or vocational school.

3. Must have a G.P.A. of 2.5 or greater.

4. Information must be submitted on the official application; no resumes will be considered.

• Eligibility: Any high school senior who has a love for music and has been involved musically throughout high school may apply for this scholarship.
